GIVE MOM A WELL-DESERVED BREAK THAT CAN ALSO IMPROVE HER HEALTH
Kids Can Make Custom Bath Crystals, and Moms Will Appreciate The Well-Deserved Break
(April 2010) -- With Mother’s Day approaching, here’s a fun gift that kids can make and that Moms would really appreciate: custom bath crystals. They’re easy to make, they give Mom a well-deserved break and her relaxing soak might even help improve her health.
Here’s the recipe:
- Mix two cups of Epsom Salt with a few drops of fragrance (an essential oil like peppermint, lavender or vanilla works great).
- If you’d like, add a few drops of food coloring or 1/2 TSP of glycerin, which you can get in supermarkets or pharmacies in the health and beauty care section.
- Place the crystals in an air-tight glass jar, have your child draw a nice label or make one on the computer, and attach a ribbon.

Epsom salt is one of the most versatile household products, with uses ranging from creating at-home spa treatments to soothing achy muscles to helping start or improve gardens.
